This features works with “Google Text To Speech engine”, so make sure you have it installed
(most android devices already comes with it installed by default)
Easy, Simple and Very Helpful!
As for today we support English , soon we will support many more languages
When hearing the name beats seeing it
- Driving: eyes on the road; the phone announces the caller, you decide by ear whether it can wait.
- Hands full: cooking, carrying, fixing: no need to rinse and reach for the screen.
- Accessibility: for visually impaired users, the spoken name is the caller ID.
Requirements and limits
The feature speaks through the Google Text-to-Speech engine, which most Android devices ship with by default. Names are announced in English today, with more languages on the way. Prefer light to sound? The same settings screen offers a flash alert on incoming calls, and both ride on top of the regular Me caller ID popup.
Set it once and forget it
There is nothing to maintain: once Auto Read Names is checked, every incoming call is announced with the same name Me shows on screen, whether the number is a saved contact or one the community identified. If a call comes in while you would rather the room did not hear who it is, the volume keys still rule: turn the media volume down and the announcement follows. Two checkboxes, and your phone learned to speak.
